We support GPs in times of need

Cameron Fund LMC Survey

During July and August, we circulated a short survey form to all Local Medical Committees seeking views on expanding our charitable activities, on how well the Cameron Fund is known, on how well we liaise with LMCs and how well we fulfil our objects.

We were delighted with the response.  54 survey forms were returned  - 61% of those circulated.  We were pleased to find that the majority of LMCs think we are operating successfully and that regular short newsletters and flyers would be welcomed.  Some LMCs told us that in their areas individual GPs and some practices were not aware of us.  We need to address this in future promotions.  We are very grateful for the suggestions on how we might promote the Fund and expand our work but we note that not all LMCs think we should move into new activities.  We will be informing all LMCs who their regional representatives are and will be speaking at forthcoming seminars and conferences.

Thank you to all those Local Medical Committees who participated in the survey; we're glad that it has proved to be a first rate endorsement of our work.

The Practitioner Health Programme

We are pleased to announce that the Cameron Fund is providing assistance to the London-based Practitioner Health Programme (PHP).  The tremendous success of the Progamme has generated referrals from all over the country.  We will be meeting the cost of ten initial assessments for GPs from outside the London area as a pilot.

If you are based outside London and are seeking an assessment, contact PHP in the first instance on 020 3049 4504 and state that you consider that you may be eligible for support from the Cameron Fund. We are covering the costs of the initial assessment for eligible GPs working outside London, providing our eligibility criteria are met.
