Medical Charities' Portal now LIVE!

The Cameron Fund has been working with four other Medical Charities - BMA Charities, the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund, the Royal Medical Foundation and the Society for the Assitance of Medical Families - to launch a new 'Portal' site to highlight the financial support out there for Doctors and assist them in finding out which of the charities may be able to offer the help they need and signpost them to those charities.

You may be aware that March is National Woman's History Month, and as mentioned previously 2017 is the Medical Women's Federation's Centenary Year.

Improvements made to the GP Returner Scheme

You may be aware that last November NHS England and Health Education England announced a series of improvements to the GP Induction & Refresher Scheme, which included more financial and practical support for GPs with help towards their costs and fees.  Also every GP Returner would also have access to a dedicated account manager to guide them through the process and changes to hopefully make the that process much simpler and quicker.

On Sunday 7 May Dr Gwyn Roberts will be running in the Great Welsh Half Marathon to raise funds and bring awareness to the Cameron Fund.

Lucy Warner talks about the NEW GP Health Service

I am pleased to let you know that a new NHS GP Health Service has opened which will provide confidential mental health support for GPs and GP trainees suffering from mental ill-health and addiction.

The free and confidential service will take self-referrals and be provided through a regional network of experienced clinicians and therapists across 13 areas in England, who will deliver support for a range of conditions including: 

Medical Women's Federation 100th Anniversary

Between Wednesday 10 May and Saturday 13 May, the Medical Women's Federation are holding a series of events to mark their centenary year.  To find out more about the celebrations click here

Supporting the health of Health Practioners

The NHS Pracitioner Health Programme will be holding a one day UK-wide health summit on Wednesday 29 March.  The UK Physician Health Summit 2017 will be chaired by Dr Clare Gerada, Medical Director at NHS PHP and will cover the NEW GP Health Service, which aims to help doctors who are unwell to remain, or return to work, in a safe clinical practice where possible.
